A strong voice for Whittlefield and Ightenhill
Don Whitaker is a local councillor representing the residents of Whittlefield with Ightenhill on Burnley Borough Council.
Don believes that being a councillor is about more than simply attending council meetings. It is about listening to residents, understanding the issues that affect people in their everyday lives and making sure those concerns are properly heard.
With a practical and straightforward approach, Don is committed to representing the interests of the local community and working constructively to help make Whittlefield and Ightenhill a better place to live.
Don also serves as Chair of Burnley Borough Council’s Audit and Standards Committee, a role that carries important responsibilities for oversight, accountability and maintaining high standards within the council.
For Don, local representation starts with being accessible and willing to listen. Whether it is an issue affecting a particular street, a concern about council services or a wider matter affecting the community, residents should have a councillor who takes their concerns seriously.
Don is proud to represent Whittlefield and Ightenhill and remains focused on standing up for the people and communities he represents.
