VIDEO: CLLR DON WHITAKER ANNOUNCES PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDACY FOR BURNLEY TO END “MANAGED DECLINE”

Councillor Don Whitaker has officially announced his selection as Restore Britain’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC) for the Burnley constituency, pledging to bring strong, direct advocacy to Westminster for his lifelong home town.

In a video address to constituents, Cllr Whitaker—who was born, raised, and brought up his family in Burnley—highlighted his track record serving residents on Burnley Borough Council as the foundation for his parliamentary bid.

Addressing supporters, Cllr Whitaker criticized legacy political parties for overseeing what he termed the “managed decline” of local communities and the nation. Drawing on Burnley’s proud heritage as a powerhouse of the Industrial Revolution, he called for a return to common-sense leadership, industrial ambition, and unapologetic local advocacy.

Speaking on his official selection video, Councillor Don Whitaker said:

“I have had the absolute honor of being selected as Restore Britain’s prospective parliamentary candidate for Burnley. This is the town I was born in, the town I’ve lived in my entire life, and where I raised my family. Burnley is my home, and Burnley people are my people.

“I’ve served on the council for a number of years now, fighting tooth and nail for the residents of Whittlefield with Ightenhill and surrounding wards. I want to take that same fight across the entire constituency. For too long, our town and our nation seem to have been in managed decline by the other political parties—that needs to end.

“Burnley was at the forefront of the Industrial Revolution. We built things, made things, and made a real difference to our nation. It is not too late to start doing that again, but we need people in Westminster who will actually fight for their areas tooth and nail.

“I am going to do exactly what it says on the tin: fight hard for Burnley, restore common-sense values for decent, hardworking people, and work to restore this country of ours.”

The candidate invited residents across Burnley and Padiham to engage with the Restore Britain campaign team, review party policies, and join upcoming grassroots action days across the borough.
